1 Corinthians 9:27 “I would rather beat my body into submission, that I might not be a disqualifier while ministering to others. For he would not have himself disqualified, while preaching to others."

Paul says that he knocks his body into submission, which I am sure means that he is choosing the new self in the battle between the old self and the new self.

We have been given new life by Jesus. Since mission is to let the world see that life grow, we also need to rely on and surrender to the power of the Holy Spirit to lead us to grow in newness of life.

We are not to be disqualified. A disqualified person is one who declares that he or she has no need of Jesus or the new life.

God knows our weaknesses, and no matter how many times we fail, if we need Jesus and God, He will forgive us, restore us, and give us new opportunities to try again and again.

God will never cut us off.
