Matthew 24:29 "After those days of tribulation, the sun will be darkened, the moon will not shine, the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken."
We tend to look at these natural phenomena as signs of the end times and try to make sense of them, but the Bible presents them as signs that tell us that the time of the Second Coming is near.
The "consciousness as a sign of the end times before the Second Coming" and "consciousness as a sign that the time of the Second Coming is near" may be referring to the same kind of time, but our perception of the former seems to be quite different.
In the former, we feel that there will be no Second Coming unless we pass through despair, while in the latter, we simply feel hope.
What is the difference?
We may be saying the same thing, but we may be saying very different things, depending on what our focus is.
Instead of focusing on "what will happen," we should focus on "who will come."
Our God is the one who will surely keep His promises to us, and the Second Coming is a joyous time when we will be able to meet Him face to face. Our God is a God who will be with us to the very end, no matter how the circumstances appear in our eyes. We should continue to ask God to give us the faith to believe in Him to the end of our days.
