Gospel Reflections #500: It is not about what we say, but to WHOM we say it!

Psalm 119:11 “I have put my heart in the words of the Lord, "Do not let me do wrong to you. Let no wrong be done to you."

I think we have been taught in church that by reciting scriptures, actions will accompany them.

It would be great if the recitation of Scripture could easily lead to action, but obeying the Word of God is not possible by our own strength, but by God's strength at work.

We keep the Word of God in our hearts because God reminds us of the Word we need most from our store of the Word when we need it. This allows us to rethink and reflect on our thoughts and actions, searching for God's will.

Then we report what we have realized to God.

These realizations include: "I can't do anything on my own," "Even if I could, God's love is not included," "I want to follow God's will even though I can't do it on my own," "I want to seek God's wisdom, power, and mercy," "I want to be confident that God is with me," and so on.

We report to God what we have been made aware of by Him, tell Him our thoughts and desires, and leave the rest to Him.

God faithfully and sincerely receives our every word, even our unspoken thoughts.

This is because He is our Father.

It is not important what we say, but to whom we say it!
