Proverbs 3:7 “Do not regard yourselves as wise, but fear the Lord and shun evil. Fear the Lord and shun evil."

We like to praise and reward ourselves and our accomplishments.

This is because we are immersed in the world of sin, and the values of the world of sin are ingrained in us.

We fall into some kind of addiction from these places without realizing it ourselves.

When we only look at things from the same perspective as ourselves, we see only superiority and inferiority, winning and losing. And we judge ourselves.

Even if we see ourselves as wise, it is because we are comparing ourselves to someone else, and this comparison is always fluctuating. So we will not be able to look the other way.

We may also be aware that we fear the Lord, but deep down inside there is something that does not match up with that.

We want new life to grow through God, not through man.

Avoiding evil means more than not doing bad things. It means to fear God, to keep looking up to Him, to be humbled by Him.

God is at work in our lives, always preparing the grace we need and patiently working to bring us truly to Him. God is a God who builds us up, not in our imperfect wisdom, but in His perfect wisdom. The more we know God, the more we are led to God-dependence!

It is an addiction that leads to joy and gratitude!
