Gospel Reflections #485: It's not about how we can run well.

Acts 20:36-38'After he had spoken these things, Paul knelt down with everyone and prayed. All the people wept intensely and held Paul by the neck and kissed him. They were especially grieved because Paul said that they would never see their faces again. The people went to see Paul off to the ship."

Paul proclaimed what he had been faithful to do and his path that he was to run.

This is not so much Paul's mission as it is his attitude toward life, faithfully following Jesus' words, "It is more blessed to give than to receive."

But Paul did not jump from one foot to the other until he became this way.

We, too, are being prepared through our daily life, through fellowship with and awareness of God.

It is never a case of, "If these conditions are not met, then God will not use you."It is never God can't use you unless these conditions are in place. God has already laid out a rail in front of us. Before we get on the rail, we think about how we can run well, or what we should do if we have a problem, and as a result, we end up thinking that we cannot do it, or we fall into self-loathing. In other words, we must accept the situation in front of us that God has prepared as a calling from God, stay in that situation, and then ask God to let us move forward after that.

Rather than looking up at the big things we see before us and being afraid, we should be faithful and willing to let God call us to do the mundane things that are right in front of us.

By doing so, we are being given access to an invisible treasure.

It is God's love, mercy, forgiveness, healing, encouragement, and assurance that He is with us.
