John 17:17 "Jesus said, "By the truth make them holy, for you are the truth. Your Word is truth."
God wants to free us from the bondage of sin and nurture us as holy people.
Yet, as Christians, we sometimes live as if we are not blessed, forgetting that through faith in Jesus, we have already been moved from the curse of sin into the blessing of grace.
God has more blessings and joys in store for us and is standing by to give them to us immediately. However, we often miss out on God’s greatest blessings because, while we hear and study His Word, we hesitate or delay putting it into practice. It is not enough to merely acquire the knowledge; true blessing comes when we act on what we have learned in faith and obedience.
But the Bible tells us that we will be blessed when we do the Word. God's Word has power.
The power of God's Word is activated when we are so immersed in it that we are moved to act, yet recognize that we cannot do it in our own strength. It is in this place of dependence on God that His power works through us.
God's Word works on our hearts, arouses our desire to do it, and leads us to ask God's power to do it.
The result is "doing the Word.
God wants to distinguish us as His own. That is sanctification. The moment we take heed to the Word, God makes us His own and welcomes us with showers of blessings, guidance, and joy.
So we do not become holy by ourselves, but are transformed by God's Word. That is the law of God's love.
