Matthew 14:26 "When the disciples saw Jesus walking on the lake, they were frightened, saying, 'It is a ghost,' and they cried out in terror."
How much can we think of Jesus and think like Him when we are not with Him?
No matter how good a Christian we are, we humans, influenced by sin, cannot always think and act like Jesus.
We cause anxiety and fear by looking, and we feel it is our fault that we cannot do as Jesus did.
Only Jesus can take away our anxiety and fear. However, Jesus does not remove our fears by changing our circumstances, but by giving us peace and confidence in our hearts.
Jesus first lets us experience how peaceful it feels to be with Him, and then He nurtures our faith.
Jesus does not tell us that we must not fail. It does not matter how many times we fail.
Jesus wants us to use our failures as a foundation for our faith and to take steps forward.
Our eyes can't see the One who should be seen, and all we can see is what makes us emotional. But when we turn our eyes to Jesus, our eyes are opened and we can see what has been hidden until now.
We believe in Jesus and follow him. But it is also true that we have not yet let go of our fears and anxieties.
God knows all about us. The moment we are willing to choose God, even for a moment, God receives it and leads us to believe and follow Jesus. Then we will be able to walk as Peter walked on the lake.
Our failures are opportunities for us to realize God's blessings and see God mature our faith through them. So, let's not lose heart at our mistakes. Let Jesus raise us up in His blessings.
