Daniel 2:40 “The fourth kingdom is as strong as iron. For iron crushes all things, but like iron that destroys all things, this nation will heap destruction upon destruction."

This is the Roman Empire in Daniel's prophecy.

Rome not only crucified Jesus, but has persecuted many Christians.

God's plan of salvation for mankind is not as simple as a TV cartoon. History has left us with facts that are so cruel that we wonder, "If there is a God, why do these things happen?

God's plan is more elaborate than we can imagine. God does not persecute people, nor has He abandoned them. God's focus is not on building His kingdom in this world ruled by Satan, but on the new world, He is creating for His people.

God shows us in advance what this world will be like.

He prepares us to think through any situation, to remember His promises, to believe them, and to persevere. Even if we die in the midst of hard circumstances, God shows us that it is not death, but sleep.

Now we need to think and know well, with the help of the Holy Spirit, what the world is like, what God is like, and what we human beings are like.

If we ask for it, God will provide for all our needs.

No matter how bad our situation gets, God will guard our hearts and be with us.

Our God is a perfect God who will never fail us or forsake us.
