Genesis 6:5 “The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was in the earth, and that all the thoughts of his heart were evil all the time."
This is a picture of the fall of people before the flood in the days of Noah.
Sin has come into the world and has affected us in many ways.
Sin enters our lives and separates our hearts from God.
As we drift away from God, we fall into a selfish mindset and see only self-centeredness or self-glorification.
This is our own nature under the influence of sin.
God is well aware of our character.
But God accepts that it is not our original character, but one that has been distorted by sin, and He seeks to redeem, heal, forgive, and guide us to restore it.
God did not cause the flood because of the evil infestation in Noah's time, but He allowed the flood to protect those who believed in Him and lived according to Him in the midst of the evil infestation.
God does not overlook a small light in the midst of an evil world.
That light is not a light that does good, but God accepts the little light that is drowning in evil, the little cry to God for help, the little cry that cannot help itself.
Where there is sin, God's grace is also generous.
And our God has already triumphed over that evil.
Our God never disappoints those who rely on Him.
