John 9:4 “We must do the works of Him who sent Me while there is still day. The night is coming when no one will be able to work."
Whenever something unfortunate or grievous happens to human beings, they seek the cause as to why it happened. And when they discover the cause, they blame, condemn, and accuse.
Jesus, however, saw things quite differently.
Jesus said, "Not because of anyone's fault, but only so that God's mercy might be manifested in the person.
Jesus is not particularly concerned with what we have done in the past.
What Jesus is most concerned about is that people be restored from their present condition and receive God's life.
This is the gospel and grace.
We are not chained to the chains of darkness of our past.
We can be liberated by God and receive new life. It is as if the eyes of a man born blind are opened and he experiences a new world!
Suffering and illness are certainly brought about by sin.
Yet, God has used that suffering to bring people to know Him and to know Christ.
And God does not condemn us even if our current lives are a mess because of our sin.
Rather, He considers how He can restore us now.
Our God will never abandon, give up, or ignore us as we seek Him and depend on Him.
Just as He gives light to the eyes of the blind, He gives His light to our hearts.
Our God is a God who generously gives us His works.
Let us rejoice with Him today!
