Deuteronomy 6:6,7 “Take to heart these words that I command you today, and teach them to your children repeatedly, and speak them to them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, and when you sleep."
This seems like a parent's duty to his or her children, but the more a parent imposes on a child, the more the child may reject it.
What we communicate is not as such, but our "way of life".
We express what kind of God our God is by the way we live.
We unconsciously represent our God through our words, our tone of voice, our facial expressions, our attitudes, and all of our actions.
And our family and friends are influenced by us.
To have such an influence, we need to know daily what kind of God our God is.
We want to be able to talk about our daily experiences with God.
God is working in us every day, every moment.
God is working with us every moment of every day, whether we realize it or not.
We want to be sure to receive it and savor it.
God works in our hearts and changes them. The part of us that speaks of God is not our mouths, but our expressions, attitudes, hands, and feet.
If we always keep our eyes on God, He will remold us that way. No matter how long it takes or how unlikely it is, our God is not a God who gives up, but a God who loves us through to the end.
