1 Peter 3:18 “Christ also suffered once only for sin. He who was righteous suffered for the unrighteous. He suffered so that you might be brought to God. Christ was handed over to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit."

Jesus did not die an ordinary death.

He died the "second death" in our place so that all in Christ would not suffer in His death.

Ellen White puts it this way. The Redeemer of the world has received the treatment that we ought to have borne. It is for us to be treated as we deserve to be treated by our Redeemer. The Redeemer was condemned for our sins which were not His own. That we might be justified by the righteousness of the Redeemer which is not our own."

Jesus took us back and did not blur our focus from there, with the hope of living with us.

We are made alive in this love.

We are nurtured by the joy in this love.

Our ordinary lives are lived in God's extraordinary love.

Our God is a God who loves us to the utmost.
