Ruth 1:16,17 “Ruth said. Do not compel me to do such a terrible thing as to forsake you and turn my back on you and return home. I will go where you go and stay where you stay. Your people are my people, and your God is my God. I want to die where you die and be buried there. If I die and say goodbye, but if I do anything else that would cause me to leave you, Lord, please punish me in many ways."

Ruth said this verse about staying with her mother-in-law Naomi after her husband's death.

I am sure that Ruth came to know the "God of love" through Naomi.

I believe that we also came to know and believe in God through someone.

Even if that person is not a wonderful person in the world, we are drawn to something that oozes from that person, and when we meet the God of Love who always accepts us through that person, we never want to be separated from that person or from God again, just like Ruth.

When we meet the true God, we want to express our feelings as honestly and boldly as Ruth.

Ruth lost her husband and her mother-in-law Naomi lost her husband and two sons.

God is at work in our lives and through us to our families and friends.

All we have to do is receive God's guidance and grace, and He will work and arrange everything else.

Like Ruth, our "sorrow" will turn into "hope," which will surely lead to "joy"!
