Gospel Reflections #401: We Do Good Because We are Connected to the One Who is truly Good.

Revelation 14:13 “And I heard a voice from heaven proclaiming, "Write down. Write. Blessed is the man who dies in union with the Lord after this time."And the spirit also said. 'Yes, and they shall be released from their labors, and shall have rest. And they shall be released from their labors, and they shall have rest. For their deeds will be rewarded."

This is the Word written after the message of the three angels.

Those who are united to the Lord" would be those who have believed in God as their God, relied on Him, and followed Him, rather than relying on ourselves.

This is a person who believes in God's power at work in us, not in our accomplishments or the fruits of our efforts.

We are rewarded for our "deeds," which are the result of being united to the Lord and guided by the Holy Spirit, and which are the product of righteousness through faith.

Deeds" are not something we do on our own, but because we are connected to God, God causes thoughts to arise in our hearts and then brings them to fruition in the form of "deeds.

The moment we will God in our hearts and thoughts, the Holy Spirit begins to work in us.

Because we agree to be moved by God's power, His power is at work in our hearts without our noticing.

There will still be trials and tribulations for us, but our hearts can rest in God's presence with us.

And soon the time will come when that peace will overflow inside and outside of us!
