John 1:3,4 “All things came to be by the word. Nothing came to be that was not by the Word. The life was in the Word. Life was the light that shone upon man.”

The word translated "word" in the original Greek is "logos," which is said to mean "the truth itself that orders and animates the entire universe," not "merely the words of the mouth.

Therefore, since this is said to mean "He who appeared as the Personality of God to reveal God," this is Jesus, as we are taught.

Nothing has come to be without Jesus. The life in Jesus is the light that illuminates us.

When we believed in and accepted Jesus as our Savior and Redeemer, God sowed the seed of His life in our hearts. The Holy Spirit is now nurturing us so that that life shines as light.

We cannot make light of the life given to us in our own strength. We cannot nurture it in our own strength.

What can nurture that life is not only all that we receive from God, but joy, gratitude, and hope for each one we receive.

Joy, gratitude, and hope are given by our acceptance of Jesus' extraordinary unconditional love, forgiveness, mercy, and healing. It is never our efforts, achievements, or deeds.

There is nothing we cannot achieve by believing in and accepting Jesus.

Faith is being convinced of God's promises and confirming God's word as the fulfillment of that fact that has not yet been fulfilled!

This is not in our power, but God has promised that He will enable us to do it.

We just have to believe and receive.
