Acts 22:6,7 "As I continued my journey and approached Damascus, about midday, suddenly a strong light shone around me from heaven. I fell to the ground and heard a voice saying, "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?
This is a scene from Paul's testimony of God as he recounted his experience in front of the crowd.
Saul was a fervent believer, but he did not know the true God.
But God knew him and revealed Himself to him. God spoke directly to Saul.
He did not say to Saul, "You are wrong," in rebuke or anger, but rather He asked Saul, "Why? God is seeking a relationship with Saul from God's side.
Our God is a God who approaches us from His own side. And God does not hold us down with force, but gives us opportunities to think. God makes us look at motives that we may not even be aware of.
God does not work on our superficial orientation, but on the orientation that is hidden in our hearts.
When we are given such an opportunity, we must be still and take it as God's indication to reflect and think about who God is, where we are and where we are going, and we will discover a new God, and we will take another step closer to God and be welcomed into a world of joy and unconditional love.We will be welcomed.
God's voice that Saul heard was not anger or rebuke against Saul, but God's strong desire for Saul to know the truth.
God is speaking to us in the same way that He spoke to Saul.
