Mark 13:32,33 “No one knows that day or hour. Neither the angels nor the Son knows. Only the Father knows. Take heed, and keep your eyes open. For you do not know when that hour is.

Jesus warned us not to anticipate the time of his second coming.

But why do we want to?

What do we think will happen if we do?

We have a tendency to think that if we can predict the timing, we can prepare ourselves to meet it.

What we keep in mind is that Jesus is coming for us, and that we will receive from God the faith to believe it and to wait for it with confidence.

We need to wait now, reaffirming where we look and what we focus our efforts on.

Jesus is surely coming for us. Whenever that may be, Jesus is the one who will keep his promises.

We have believed in the atonement of Jesus' cross to make us God's children. God will never change or stop it in the middle of the process.

We should not strive to reach what we are not capable of reaching, but focus on realizing the many blessings that God has given us to understand.

And we hope to greet Jesus with joy and gratitude that we cannot hold.
