Luke 12:19,20 19 And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’ 20 “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’
We live our lives as if we are struggling now for the future rather than living in the present.
We feel like we are living for the sake of our own fears and concerns, trying to deal with them.
Jesus said to the people, "Be vigilant against all covetousness."He then said, "A man's life does not depend on his possessions, even if he has a lot of them.
We may have worldly riches and pleasures that give us temporary happiness and enjoyment, but then we may feel a sense of emptiness.
We are created by God, and God has created a hole in our hearts that only He can fill. That hole cannot be filled by anything in the world, no matter what we try to fill it with.
If we try to fill that hole with worldly wealth, accomplishments, or pleasures, we will feel a sense of discomfort that will not fit.
And then we go looking for something else.
God uses all kinds of ways to reveal Himself to us.
And we are reminded that God is the only one who can fill the holes in our hearts. We also get a taste of God's joy through that realization.
We are led not to store up God's blessings, but to reveal and share the joy of having the holes in our hearts filled by God.
The hole in our hearts is not only to be filled, but to be made richer by sharing. It is transformed into something that can fill the hole in someone else's heart.
And it will not be lost, but will be multiplied.
God's love has no limits.
