Acts 27:23,24 “An angel from God, whom I serve and worship, stood by me last night and said, "Paul, do not be afraid. 'Paul, do not be afraid. You must appear before the emperor. God has entrusted you with all those who are sailing with you.'"

This is a scene from a storm as Paul is taken to Rome.

An angel encouraged Paul when all aboard the ship were fearful, impatient, and anxious.

God told Paul, "I have a plan for your life. It is no accident that you are in this boat now. I put you on this ship for a purpose. The purpose I have for your life goes far beyond the storm you are experiencing right now.

With these words from God, Paul could then encourage, give peace, and encourage those in the boat because he was assured that God was with him at all times and in all situations, and he accepted that God was always in the background, whether it was the storm or his own fate in Rome. I am sure that God was always in the background of those events.

In our most difficult and painful times, God calls out to us just as He encouraged Paul.

Our God never tells us to go it alone.

Our God is a God who is with us and encourages us no matter what happens, no matter how bad we are doing. That is why we can always take a step forward with joy, gratitude, and hope.
