Deuteronomy 18:9 "If you enter into the land which the Lord your God, the Lord your God, gives you, do not emulate the customs of the nations that you should follow."

We are made to go in God-given environments and places in the real world of this world. But it is not a place of peace and comfort. It may be a place where we are constantly tense and subject to wind, rain, and storms from all over the place.

God says that if we enter there, we should not emulate the habits of the people in that place.

Habits that should be avoided are those common sense and habits that make people talk down to us, constantly accuse, compare, shame, persecute, and make fun of us.

We are tempted to talk back when we feel crushed by uncomfortable thoughts. We want to express our strength and righteousness.

But God tells us not to emulate them.

He means that we are not to do the same thing to them.

This is where our patience and faith are needed.

It is not just endurance, but God's presence.

It is not us who fight, but we must wait and believe that God is fighting for us.

Jesus fought Satan to get us back, but God's weapons were love and sacrifice.

Our weapon is Jesus.

We are given the weapon of Jesus even though we cry, tremble, and stagger.

And Jesus has already won the victory over the world.

All we can do is make a conscious choice not to react against the other with the evil we have suffered.

In the world, we will appear to be losing, but God will not give up on us or forsake us.

Jesus, our weapon of choice, will show us a great reversal of love at the end of the day.

When we are focused on that, we will have hope and joy.

And victory awaits you
