John 14:14 "If you ask anything of Me in My name, I will make it come true."
When you read this verse, what part of it impresses you?
The part that says, "If you ask anything in my name, I will make it come true."
We tend to imagine and seek a magical God in this way, but what we need to focus on is the "in my name" and "I will" part.
George Muller founded an orphanage and operated it solely through prayer. He never asked for money. He kept a record of more than 50,000 prayers in a cash book and said that no prayer went unanswered.
When breakfast ran out, he encouraged his children to join him at the empty table and offered a prayer of thanksgiving for the meal. When he finished praying, the baker knocked on the door with freshly baked bread for all of them.
It is not what we pray for that we need to look at, but to whom we pray.
It is the fact that we keep in touch with the extraordinary God in our daily mundane lives that makes it possible.
This Sabbath is also not about what we do or don't do, but who we meet, who we fellowship with, and who we share about!
