Colossians 3:23 "Whatever you do, do it sincerely, as you would do to the Lord, not to others."
When we do something to others, we have a tendency to receive evaluation of our actions based on their reactions. When the other person's reaction is less than expected, we often blame them, "I did all this for them! When we do something to others, we often blame them."
When we do something to others, we tend to take it only on an emotional basis, because the other person's reaction becomes the center of our attention.
But when we do things to the Lord, our focus is set on remembering what God has done for us, so that we will respond in the same way.
So we are allowed to focus only on what we want to do for the other person without being influenced by their reaction.
We can know and confirm what and how God has done for us in our relationship and experience with Him.
Also, by looking up to God, He allows us to become more like Him.
As we continue that experience daily, God fills our hearts with His love and joy, and we become eager to share it with someone else, eager to share it with someone else, eager to share God's love, hope, and joy with others. And we become more joyful in giving than in getting something in return from the other person.
The more we learn about who God is, the more we become willing doers. God's love first changes our hearts and then uses us to bring His love to the hearts of those around us!
