Hebrews 11:34 "Weak, yet made strong."

Hebrews 11 contains the faithful example of the people of old.

Verse 34 describes Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and the prophets.

None of the biblical characters were brilliant, strong, or brave.

They were, like us, human beings affected by sin, weak, imperfect, and inadequate.

They did not make themselves strong; they relied on God and surrendered to Him.

So they were strengthened by God's power and used by Him.

We have a hard time admitting and accepting our weaknesses. We unconsciously seek to be strong, excellent, and successful.

But the more we learn about who God is, the more we learn about who we are. And we can only truly look up to God when we can face, acknowledge, and accept our weaknesses.

God does not blame or condemn us for our weaknesses.
God is a God who is close to our weaknesses.

We can reflect His power by being covered with His righteousness.

The characters in the Bible are not wonderful because of who they are, but because of who God is with them.

Let us experience today the God who is working with us in our weakness!
