Gospel Reflections #288: God is certainly calling us to Him.

1 Corinthians 9:25. "Everyone who competes is temperate in everything. They do so to obtain a crown that will not decay, but we temper ourselves to obtain a crown that will not decay."

Athletes develop their abilities through daily practice. We focus on our game so that we can perform at our maximum potential.

We are athletes of faith. What should we build on each day?

We are not to do something, but we are to go to God every day to talk, confess, share, and rejoice with Him face to face. We tend to make excuses like we don't have time, we are not holy enough to go to God yet, we don't know how to go, we don't know what to say to God, and so on.

There are many things around us that shift our focus on God, but God is certainly calling us to Him.

Not because of what we did or didn't do, but because if our hearts are seeking God, He is not going to miss it. He is the kind of God who will run to us. And there are no dropouts in this athlete of faith. God will surely lead us to victory.

We are on the path to victory, hand in hand with our friends of faith, sharing our joy.

Our path is the path of hope!
