2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace is sufficient for thee."
It is often said that God's grace is His favor given to those who do not deserve it.
We say we don't deserve it, but do we realize that we don't really deserve it?
Do we ever try so hard that because we don't deserve grace, we must do something to come as close as we can to deserving it, to become good Christians?
In our walk of faith, have we created an equation that says, "God has given me grace because I have done this"? Are we judging others based on that equation?
Are we seeking God's "grace only" and receiving grace without Jesus?
God knows all our weaknesses and foolishness. We are not worthy of the covenant God offers us.
God knows all this and offers us a one-sided covenant. God is the one who presents us with a one-sided covenant after having fulfilled the consequences of the covenant.
This unilateral covenant of God is God's grace and God's love.
Jesus is with us at all times. We are never separated from Jesus. This is grace. We are healed, forgiven, protected, encouraged, and experience peace because Jesus is with us, sorrowing and suffering with us, and rejoicing and enjoying with us.
This leads to hope, wisdom and strength.
What more do we need?
We may expect visible miraculous blessings, but the more we know God, the more we can see that being with Jesus is enough. The joy and hope that comes from that is more than enough for us, but God gives it to us generously and it says "enough" to us.
Today, too, we should let God's grace, which is more than enough, taste us to the full. And let us respond to God with joy!
