Gospel Reflections #266: A love like No Other

Jeremiah 31:3 "From afar has the Lord appeared to me. I will love you with an everlasting love; I will be gracious to you without change."

God is a God who appears to us from His own side.

Like the father of the prodigal son, He approaches us from afar, running toward us.

God is a God who loves us with an everlasting love before we even love Him.

He is a God who does not change His love for us based on our attitudes or actions.

He is a God who forgives us, has mercy on us, heals us, encourages us, and is willing to sacrifice for us in order to love us.

It is such a God who fulfills his promises for us and then speaks to us in this way.

God is not a God who speaks to us in this way first and then fulfills his promises after seeing our reactions, but a God who acts out his love unilaterally regardless of our reactions.

Even if we reject God, He does not give up on us, but pours out His love until we realize it.
