Revelation 3:19 "I rebuke and discipline everyone whom I love. Therefore, strive diligently. Repent."

This sounds like a word of rebuke from God to us, but is it really?

These words are addressed to the church in Laodecia.

Laodecia is our time.

We say that we are rich and have no need of anything, but in fact we are in a state of not realizing that we are the ones who should be pitied.

There are those of us who need God but do not need Him.

We have continued to choose that state, and when difficult things happen to us, they are the result of our choices, not God's.

There are many times when we are convinced that we are blaming God and not admitting our own negligence.

But God doesn't blame us for it, and He covers for us as if He were doing it to us. He teaches us the way of salvation, telling us to buy gold refined by fire so that we may be rich, white robes so that we may not be disgraced, and eye drops so that we may be able to see.

So He tells us to look up to Him, and to turn toward Him.

Does a God who is willing to risk His life to save us scold or chastise us?

My God is a God of love to the end, a God who will never abandon us or use force to change our orientation.

My God is a God who is kind to all and forgives to all. Therefore, He is a God that I want to follow, to the end of the line!
