Psalm 57:8 "I will make my heart sure; I will sing songs of praise to you, O God. O God, I will make my heart sure/ I will sing songs of praise to you."
When we have a wall that is too big to overcome or a hardship that is too long to endure, we ask God to take down the "wall" or make the "hardship" disappear.
Our patience is so small that in the midst of hardship, we feel that our anxiety and suffering are greater than our trust in God, and we are almost crushed by it.
Nevertheless, we pray to God and hang on to Him, and we are allowed into His love.
We accept reality in a kind of resignation, but I believe that by acknowledging reality as reality for the first time we are able to face it.
God works in our hearts when we accept the unmanageable reality as our reality and look up to Him.
He says, "I am with you. I will not give up on you. I will not give up on you. I will protect you."
God always speaks to us in this way and is always there for us.
When we feel this, we have peace in our hearts, we can look at what God has done for me, and we can give Him praise.
I feel that God does not show us magic miracles, but allows us to experience the love and peace that can only come from God through accepting the reality that is placed before us and receiving that reality as sufficient for us.
It is in the hard times, in the fragile times, that God is present in our hearts and assures us of His encouragement and hope.
It is also God who enables us to receive what we do not want to receive. Our God is a God of love far greater than the walls that are too big for us to overcome or the hardships that are too long to endure. We can depend on Him with security and confidence.
