Mark 8:35 "Whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the sake of the gospel will save it."
Jesus left the heavenly world and came to earth for the sake of humanity, which sin has entered. Instead of insisting on the rules of heaven, Jesus followed the rules of earth and gave His life on the cross.
The King of the Universe was comfortable, and He accepted all the conventions of this world in order to discard all the harmony He was accustomed to, and to restore us even if we did not agree, even if we did not understand, and even if we knew it was absolutely wrong.
If Jesus had not been born on earth, if He had not died on the cross, we would not have been saved. He did so only to love us and to get us back.
We have come to know and believe in Him.
The more we know what Jesus has done for us, the more we look away from ourselves.
And the more we look up to Jesus, the more we receive His love and the more we want to use that love for someone else.
God's love does not stay in one place. God's love always flows out and spreads like a river.
Christian love is said to be outward love. It is not an inward love that loves oneself, but an outward love that loves others. This is what Jesus showed us with his own body. Jesus was resurrected.
It means that He has taken us back and resurrected us as children of God.
With Jesus, we can grow as children of God. And we are made to resemble Jesus.
Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and not on ourselves. When we take our eyes off of Jesus, we only look at ourselves. And we sink.
By keeping our eyes on Jesus, we will be nurtured by God's love.
It doesn't matter what our efforts or accomplishments are, we just keep our eyes on Jesus, that's all.
