Gospel Reflections #185: We are special to God, and He definitely loves us very much

John 1:14. "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us.We have seen his glory.It was.... full of grace and truth."

The word "dwelt" means that He "encamped" among us, or in Old Testament language, He "tabernacled." The tabernacle was the place where God displayed His glory and where His presence was with His people.

Now the tabernacle is Jesus Christ Himself, and through Him we see the glory of God. To fulfill God's plan of salvation for mankind, Jesus lived among us, worked for reconciliation with God, and finally fulfilled it with His life.

When we would not even know to plead for it, Jesus plunged into our world.

It was so different from what Jesus had experienced, so unworthy of acceptance, and yet He was willing to do it for us.

We can never fully understand it all, but we do know one thing: we are special to God. We can never fully understand it all, but we do know one thing: we are special to God, and He definitely loves us very much.
