Proverbs 26:18,19 "He who loses his discernment shoots flaming arrows, arrows of death. He who deceives a friend is equal to it. Moreover, he says, "Are you not just fooling around?"
Proverbs 26 is about the foolish and the lazy, and I, myself, have an earache.
What kind of person is "one who has lost his sense?"
One book says, "A man who has lost his sense is one who never changes his ways and expects different and better results every time.
What was the purpose of Proverbs?
The study bible says that the theme of Proverbs is to raise up wisdom, which is described as "the fear of the Lord."
The foundation of wisdom is maintaining a right relationship with God.
Those who have lost their discernment are not someone else, but each of us.
It is God's wisdom that lets us know who we really are.
God knows who we really are. We are selfish, cunning, self-first, justifying, blaming others, and the list goes on and on.
We don't want to see who we really are, so we live in a deception that prevents us from seeing it.
God wants to bring us out of that.
He is waiting for us to run to Him when we realize who we really are.
God never blames, condemns, or punishes us for our foolishness, laziness, or lack of discernment.
God only wants us to return to Him. It is our God who is pleased that you always turn to Him.
Let us begin our day today face to face with God.
