1 Samuel 17:32 David said to Saul, "Let no one lose heart over that man. I will go and fight this Philistine."

This is the scene where the young David conveyed his resolve to confront the giant Goliath to King Saul, a moment distilled with courage and faith.

While the entire Israelite army was overwhelmed by Goliath's imposing presence and "were greatly afraid," David was the first to declare, "Do not lose heart."

David's confidence was not based on his own ability, but on his trust in the Lord of Hosts (God) who stood behind him.

David saw the giant not as an "unbeatable foe," but as "one man" who had insulted God.

Moreover, from his experience fighting lions and bears to protect his sheep, David held the conviction that "the Lord will help me this time too."

When we too face life's "giants" (illness, hardship, fear, etc.), may we remember how God has helped us in the past and stand firm, trusting in the Lord's strength.

As we recall how God has worked in our own lives, and as we affirm what God is like for us, we are granted an absolute conviction in the faith of Jesus.
