Psalm 33:6,9 "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, by the breath of his mouth all their host... For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm."

Psalm 33 is a magnificent hymn praising God's creative power and providential rule.

It teaches the importance of directing our praise not only towards past blessings, but also towards God's 'new grace' at work in this very moment.

It reaffirms that our security lies not in military might or our own plans, but in the sovereignty and mercy of the God who created heaven and earth.

We must know this through experience.

And the more we come to know this God who rules over all and pours out His love, the more we are filled with joy, peace, and hope, and cannot help but praise Him.
