John 8:10 "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?"

We humans have a desire to condemn the wicked and thoroughly defeat them to see justice prevail.

We point out others' faults and try to correct them, yet our emotions work against this.

The more we are blamed, the more we want to blame others.

Jesus does not approach us with such direct confrontation.

He patiently and respectfully works so we ourselves may recognize our own faults and weaknesses.

Unless we recognize and acknowledge them ourselves, with God's help, we cannot truly turn away from them.

Jesus forgives us.

And He speaks to us, urging us to live henceforth as forgiven people.

We rarely forgive ourselves.

This is because we are reluctant to honestly admit our weaknesses and mistakes.

Yet, unless we forgive ourselves, we cannot truly forgive others.

Jesus is always near us, covering us.

When we accept this with gratitude, our eyes turn from ourselves to Jesus.

Jesus speaks to us too: "I will not condemn you either. Go in peace. From now on, sin no more."
