Galatians 3:27 "For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ."

We receive baptism as a declaration of our belief in and acceptance of Christ.

Through it, we are covered by Christ's righteousness.

But it is not that we became righteous because we were baptized.

We are made righteous by Christ's righteousness.

And baptism is not the goal; baptism is the start of the path to Christ.

We are clothed in Christ's righteousness, experience Christ's righteousness, are nurtured in Christ's righteousness, are healed in Christ's righteousness, and are transformed into Christ's likeness.

For this, we need to be nurtured by the Holy Spirit.

Just as trees grow slowly, our faith also grows slowly, but we are always guided by God so that we may surely bear God's fruit.
