John 1:14 "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We saw his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."

Jesus came down to us from His own place.

From Jesus' perspective, this world must have seemed like a dark, muddy swamp of sin. Yet no matter how filthy this world was, He stepped into it to seek us out and save us.

We tend to distance ourselves from those who don't know Jesus, treating them as if they were unclean, to preserve the purity we feel connected to Him.

The Pharisees were like that too.

But Jesus focused solely on saving us, without any thought for His own standing or reputation.

And He became the substitute for the sins of us all.

This was something only Jesus could do, and it revealed God's love, grace, and truth.

It is precisely because we touched the light of Jesus' love that we could believe in Him and desire to follow Him.

This is not something we simply receive and leave at that; we are being guided to become givers ourselves.
