1 John 1:5 "This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you: God is light, and in him there is no darkness at all."
This world has been plunged into darkness by sin's influence. Yet, living in it for so long, we no longer perceive darkness as darkness; we even mistake it for light, accepting this state as normal.
But Jesus works to bring our darkness into the light and to show us that a radiant space exists.
We may try to avoid this unfamiliar light at first. Yet, the more we come to know what this light truly is, the more we are drawn to it, longing to dwell within it.
God does not fix His gaze on our weaknesses or inadequacies.
Instead, He welcomes and graciously receives us as we are drawn by His light and come to Him.
Only when we are filled with God's light are we called to carry His small lamp where it is needed.
The Sabbath fills us with joy and gratitude as we share our small lamps within God's radiant light.
This light grows steadily brighter.
