Matthew 12:8 "The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath."

Jesus is the One who bears the yoke with us. That yoke is light.

The world seeks to dominate us, forcing us to bear its yoke. This yoke is very heavy and painful.

That Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath means the Sabbath is the time when He places us in His hands and rules over us.

Yet this dominion differs from the world's: Jesus' dominion builds a fortress to protect us, allowing us to rest and find refreshment in our very weakness, just as we are.

When we entrust everything to Jesus and lift our eyes to Him, we experience peace and rest beyond anything this world can offer.

This is the experience of heaven, the experience of being with God.

God instituted the Sabbath so that even while living in this sin-affected world, we might experience His kingdom right here.

Therefore, the Sabbath is not about us keeping time or place; it is the time and space for fellowship, sharing, and communion with Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath.

It is a space overflowing with joy, gratitude, and hope.
