Zechariah 2:8 "Whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye."
The world we live in is distorted by the influence of sin, so we often feel it's full of absurdities, that it's an unfair world, and that there will never be an end to people suffering from unjust treatment.
But God uses every possible means to seek us out and bring us back.
God is always near us, always supporting us.
Because God treasures us as precious possessions, cherishing us so dearly that we are like the apple of God's eye.
This is the God who sacrificed His life for us.
Even when everything seems absurd to our eyes, instead of focusing on that, by fixing our gaze on God—who cherishes and loves us so dearly He wouldn't hurt us even if we were in His eye—we can be filled with God's peace and joy even in this absurd world.
In God, we can see what is invisible in this world.
By continuing to see this, we grow in our conviction of who our God truly is, and this leads to hope and joy.
