Matthew 26:39 "Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet not as I will, but as you will."
When we find ourselves in a crisis, we tend to prioritize imposing our own rules, making excuses, or appealing to others' emotions for help.
Even Jesus, as a human, may have felt the desire to escape His mission.
Yet, while He did not hide His emotions, He did not let them override His purpose.
Jesus, divine in nature yet clothed in humanity, chose to fulfill the plan for humanity's salvation without fail.
This is because Jesus loves us humans completely.
For Jesus, the joy of our salvation and living together far outweighed the worst that awaited Him. Finding hope and joy there, He willingly embraced His mission and pressed forward.
God's will is to rescue us, grant us new life, and live together under His loving rule. God will never abandon this purpose until the very end.
