Matthew 4:16 "The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light."
In this world, when a king goes somewhere, he usually visits representative places in that region, and those places are neatly prepared.
The king exists far removed from ordinary people and their daily lives.
But with Jesus, it was the opposite.
Jesus came right into the midst of people living in darkness, without any embellishment.
This world, affected by sin, is in darkness.
We are in it, and we have become so accustomed to the darkness that it seems normal.
Jesus came into the darkness we have adapted to.
And we see a light unlike any we have ever experienced in this world; we touch it, and we are enveloped by it.
This light can only be seen by faith.
But our God is such that if we believe in Him and seek Him, He will surely make it visible to us.
Let us turn our eyes today to the light of God shining beside us.
