Isaiah 53:3 "He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not."

Jesus came into this world to fulfill our plan of salvation and became the substitute for our sins.

Jesus had no form or comeliness that we should look at Him, no beauty that we should desire Him.

We humans judge everything solely by what we see, solidifying those judgments and socializing them.

Though Jesus came into this world for us, we humans did not accept Him; we rejected and attacked Him.

Nevertheless, He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities.

Jesus Himself bore our punishment, giving us peace, and by His wounds we are healed.

Even when our Christian actions and way of life fall short, knowing what Jesus has done for us makes us realize that our very existence now, our life as Christians, is due to His sacrifice, endurance, and devotion.

Let us not lament our inadequacies, but rejoice that we are kept alive upon the sacrifice of Jesus.

God is the God who gives us peace, joy, and hope!
