Gospel Reflections #813: Our Eternal Life

John 17:3 "And this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent."

"Eternal life" does not mean "immortality," but rather that we actually live together with God.

Heaven does not refer to a place in the sky only, but being with God is heaven.

God uses every possible way to reveal Himself to us for this purpose.

And He guides us to choose Him once we come to know Him.

When we respond to God's invitation, we truly come to know God and Jesus.

We possess only a self-centered, selective faith, yet despite this, God reveals Himself to us so we may understand Him.

It is not by thinking we know God, but by seeking Him until our joy overflows and receiving His response that we come to know the depths of His character.

God shows us that both heaven and eternal life can be experienced even in this world.

If we always desire to be with God and seek Him without giving up, God will speak to us, saying, "You will be with Me in Paradise."

The more we come to know God, the more we will desire never to be separated from Him for even a moment.

There, love, joy, gratitude, hope, and peace await us, and above all, Jesus Himself waits for us.
