John 6:14 "This is indeed the Prophet who is to come into the world."

These are the words of those who witnessed the miracle where Jesus fed a crowd of over five thousand with five barley loaves and two fish, after the large crowd had followed Him having seen the signs He performed for the sick.

The first part of this scripture states, "When the people saw the sign that Jesus had done, they said..."

Having witnessed Jesus' miracle of healing the sick and the miracle of providing more than enough food for five thousand, the people declared Jesus to be the true Prophet. Yet, not all who said this came to believe in Him.

Miracles can be an opportunity to turn our eyes to God, but it is rare for miracles alone to lead us to conversion.

Those who seek God as a result of a miracle will receive God's miracle in their hearts.

When we truly seek God, whatever the reason, God works through the Holy Spirit to perform miracles within our hearts.

Even if you yourself are unsure whether you are expecting a miracle or seeking God, God surely discerns the desires of our hearts.
