Zechariah 9:11,12  "And as for you, because of the blood of the covenant I made with you, I will release your captives from the waterless pit. O captive of hope! Return to your fortress. For this day also I proclaim to you. I will repay you double."

This begins with the promise to free the Jews from captivity and bring them home.

The "blood of your covenant" is the covenant made with Abraham. The Lord himself assured Abraham of his promise to give him the land by tearing the animal in half and passing his own fire through it.

And the "pit without water" refers to what was originally a cistern that was used as a dungeon, like the pit into which Jeremiah fell.

In other words, he would be released from captivity.

God is the one who frees us from everything.

And God promises to reward us twice as much.

We often wonder how much salvation and reward we will receive and how it will be given to us, but God gives us hope and assurance when things are hard and there seems to be no hope at all.

When we are on the verge of giving up, God speaks to us strongly and keeps us from giving up our faith.

All we can do is to listen to God's voice, believe, and be confident of our hope, and return to Him.

We are lost sheep making the same mistakes over and over again, but God is focused on living with us, not on the reality of it.

The more we know Him, the more we want to make sure our focus is on Him.

God's promises are faithful and perfect. God's promises are faithful and perfect, and they will surely be fulfilled.
