Jeremiah 32:17 "Oh, Lord God, you wield great power; you have stretched out your arm and made the heavens and the earth. There is nothing that is beyond your power alone."

Jeremiah's firm grip on God's promises and his use of parables in action demonstrated to the inhabitants of the ruined city his strong faith that God's plan for his people would finally be fulfilled.

In the presence of witnesses, Jeremiah faithfully followed all necessary legal steps and purchased his ancestral field, located near the village of Anathoth, for 17 shekels of silver.

It seemed foolish from any human perspective to purchase land in an area that was already under Babylonian rule.

However, Jeremiah's study of the prophecies recorded in the Bible led him to firmly believe that God wanted to restore to the captives their old possession of the Promised Land.

So, after buying the land, he prayed to God in this way.

We say we believe in God, but we focus on what is right in front of us and our own emotions, gripping worry, anxiety, and tension.

When we are able to stop looking at God's promises, let Him take care of our worries, and trust that everything is in His hands, we experience God's power for the first time and receive peace from Him.

God's peace is a greater blessing than the fulfillment of our hopes.

God's peace is the result of God's being with us and always watching over us.

This is the experience of eternal life.
