1 Corinthians 15:23 "But to each one of us there is an order. First Christ, then those who belong to Him when He comes."
Christ gave His life on the cross as payment for our sins. This was the fulfillment of God's declaration of war against Satan in Genesis 3:15.
Christ has freed us from the chains of sin.
And Christ has risen. He is the first among human beings to be resurrected.
There is an order to the resurrection, and Christ was the first to be resurrected.
Then Jesus ascended into heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God.
Then Christ will descend from heaven for believers.
When Christ comes from heaven, Christians who have died will be raised. And when He is lifted up into the air, the surviving believers will be lifted up with Him. They will meet the Lord in the air and be with Him forever.
Do we really believe this and look forward to it?
Our faith may be shaken by the challenges before us, but God's promises are perfect and complete.
We may be imperfect to the point of inseparability from the effects of sin, but God is faithful to His promises, not to our condition, and He will not abandon us.
We have already been resurrected to new life.
With confidence in this, we should look forward to God's perfect time, exercising our faith, being encouraged, and guided in our spiritual growth.
