John 15:9 "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in My love."
Jesus loved us the same way because He had experienced and accepted that God, the Heavenly Father, loved us.
God's love is a love that does not push and does not pull away, a love that watches over us so that we can respond immediately when we need it, a love that does not force us to understand but to understand each other, a love that has acceptance, forgiveness, healing, compassion, peace, hope, and joy in it.
Jesus tells us to abide in His love.
He does not tell us to love Him.
It is when we spend time each day in His love that we become willing to love Him.
God's love does not change circumstances or environments, but softens, warms, and transforms our hearts.
And only when our hearts are transformed, our changes are expressed in our words, actions, facial expressions, and thought patterns.
All we have to do is choose to abide in God's love and experience it to grow closer to Him.
