Gospel Reflections #705: God is our Truth

John 17:17  "By the truth make them holy. Your word is truth."

This is part of Jesus' intercessory prayer before Gethsemane.

Jesus is interceding for us with His Heavenly Father until the very end.

Truth is Jesus and Heavenly Father.

We are made holy by Jesus, and Jesus communicates the will of God our Heavenly Father to us.

How do we discern truth from error?

It is through our relationship, fellowship, and union with Jesus that the Holy Spirit guides us.

We can catch the awareness by the Holy Spirit by being aware of our subtle frequency with Jesus.

This is not our effort or merit, but Jesus', and it is given to us when we seek Him, not automatically when we are baptized.

As we catch Jesus' intercessory prayer, we should exercise our free will to let our relationship with Jesus grow in His love.
