1 Corinthians 10:4 "They drank from the spiritual rock that followed them without leaving them, but this rock was Christ."

Throughout the whole period of their wandering, water was supplied by God's merciful miracles wherever it was needed.

Christ meets our needs even when He places us in tribulation and trials.

He does not take away our afflictions or give us an environment where we do not thirst, but He does lead us to thirst for Him.

And when we ask God for water, He gives us what we really need.

We are not to look for the rock from which the water flows, but to look for and believe in the One who brings water out of the rock.

No matter how many times we ask for water, no matter how many times we wander and thirst, God will still love us when we rely on Him and lean on Him.

Unless we drink of the water of life in Christ, we are not really alive.

But God longs to make us alive, and He is still doing everything in His power to give us new life.
